There are so many computer applications in the market which can be used to communicate with the people of our life. Google Voice, Google Talk, Yahoo Messenger, MSN Messenger, and so many others (AOL, Meebo, Pidgin, ooVoo, ComBOTS, Gizmo Projects, iChat, Jajah, Wengophone, Sightspeed, Vbuzzer, VoipBuster, Faceflow) and Skype. I don't know much about the technical details about these applications but there are few things which I like in each of these applications.
After installing Google voice application in the computer, one can call over the distant phone. For the time being one can call free of cost in USA and Canada. Besides, one can buy credit starting from 10 USD from Google cart and make a call in heavily subsidized rates through out the world. One can get google voice from here.
Google Talk is Desktop client which functions similar to the Yahoo and Hotmail desktop client. The best thing about this is that all the Chat will be saved in one's gmail account once the chat is over. One can always come back in the account and see what was the conversations. Also one can have a video chat. Once can get Google talk from here.
After an easy account setup, one can download, install and log in to the Skype setup. It is wonderful desktop communication client for instant chat, video calls and make international call in bit more expensive than the Google call client. There are two major advantages of the skype over the Google talk: 1. Skype has inbuilt Facebook platform in the latest version, 2. you can access the history right from the skype toolbar for particular person and from the whole year!! One can get Skype from this link.
Many might not have heard about the Jumblo-a VOIP Client. It is an application which after installing into the computer, one can make an international calls in extremly subsidized rate throughout the world. In some countries calling from this client is free as per the Jumblo Guidelines. It also has mobile version which is called Mobile voip!! found in Android market. One can join the Jumblo community and download the desktop client. It only supports windows based system though website claims to support linux based OS. The payment is made in Euros.
